GoCreate, Youth Entrepreneurs to hold public grand opening Saturday

April 6, 2017

The public is invited to attend a joint grand opening for GoCreate, A Koch Collaborative and Youth Entrepreneurs from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, in the Experiential Engineering Building at Wichita State University.

The event will include equipment demonstrations from key pieces of GoCreate equipment, including the Frog360™ CNC router, waterjet cutter, CNC quilting machine, embroidery machine, 3D printers, laser engraver and various other woodworking, metalworking and sewing machines.

Tour the textiles, design and electronics, woods, metal, welding and finishing studios and meet the GoCreate staff, mentors and current members. Learn about membership options and membership assistance available through a gift from Koch Industries and the Fred and Mary Koch Foundation. Sign up for a six-month membership and receive the seventh month free.

Youth Entrepreneurs (YE) staff and alumni will be on-hand to share details about the program that helps high school students find passion and fulfillment through a hands-on learning experience and the creation of their own business idea. Plus, showcase sweet treats from Ginger Bake Shop, started by YE alumna Haley Ackley.

Mega-Bytes convenience store will be open and serving free coffee from Reverie Roasters. The WSU Food Truck plaza will be open for lunch serving food from area vendors.

Guests should enter through the main (east side) entrance of the Experiential Engineering Building, located off 17th Street between Hillside and Oliver. Parking is available to the east and west of the building.
